We Got It For Free: Rich in Clothing T-shirts

A new t-shirt company called Rich in Clothing recently approached me about doing a review of their products. I don’t wear t-shirts often, but I figured I could use them as undergarments, so I had them send me some grey v-necks.

I’ve been wearing the shirts for a while and think they’re OK. They’re made of a 50% cotton, 40% polyester, and 10% rayon blend. The upside to this blend is that polyester helps the shirt resist wrinkling, and rayon gives the fabric a drapey, vintage feel. The downside, however, is that a blended fabric like this will won’t breathe as easily as pure cotton. It also retains odors and will pill more over time (as the blended fibers will eventually separate, especially if you run them through a high heat dryer). The company does have pure cotton versions of their t-shirts, but I haven’t had a chance to handle them.

The fit is decent, and looks more like the fellow in the black t-shirt above than the deep v-neck on the far right. The only design quibble I have is that there is an embroidery at the hem that says RIC. It’s done in the same color thread as the shirt, however, so it’s subtle. Plus, I wear these as undergarments, and tuck my shirts in, so it’s a non-issue. It may be something you want to consider if you’re planning to wear these as regular t-shirts though.
