“He looks exactly as you would imagine him: the hair is powdered a frosty white and worn in a ponytail; the shades, whatever the hour, a permanent fixture (I once asked if I could see him without them on, to which he replied: ‘There are perhaps a few ambitions one should not satisfy in life, so as not to be disappointed’).” Rebecca Lowthorpe on Karl Lagerfeld (via pizzarules)

That girl in the middle looks nervous and shifty. Methinks she got that black trench at a cheap Buy It Now price on eBay.

That’s the look of a woman trying to process the fact that Karl Lagerfeld is saying that it’s degrading for people to have to shop for full price merchandise when other people in the same store are shopping for sale-priced merchandise.

And that when he suggests dealing with this problem by creating a store that only sells full-priced merchandise, and selling sale merchandise on the street, Anna Wintour says she thinks it’s a great idea.

I guess what I’m saying is maybe she’s uncomfortable because she’s a human being.
