Fresh Dressed – a documentary about hip hop fashion – is due out on Vimeo next month. The film takes a look at how hip hop fashion turned from a street movement into a multi-billion dollar industry. There’s apparently a lot of re-mastered footage from an old 1990s documentary on the Mop Tops, which was originally aired on PBS and then passed around on video tape through underground dance circles. The Mop Tops was how a lot of guys on the West Coast (including me) got introduced to Polo Ralph Lauren.
Fresh Dressed will be released on June 26th, but you can pre-order it now for $13. Above is the trailer.
