Gilt Man’s “Main Event” is scheduled for Wednesday at nine AM pacific, noon eastern time. Gilt usually sells their merchandise in 48-hour “flash sales,” at good but not amazing discounts of around 30-50% off retail. What’s left unsold or is returned is piled together every few months for a final sale like this with excellent values – up to about 90% off.
The sale brings together the leftovers of over 75 brands, so it really runs the gamut. The best of the best – Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Borrelli – go fast. By five minutes after nine, two thirds of what you’d otherwise want will be gone. By ten, you’re sifting through maybe a quarter of the stock that was there an hour previously.
The key to success is knowing what you want, knowing your size, and acting fast. Once an item is in your cart, you have ten minutes to consider it. Sales are final.
