When Mark Cho started The Armoury more than ten years ago, he bristled at the idea of holding seasonal sales, not wanting the store to fall victim to the sale cycle that takes down so many businesses. The company still doesn’t hold seasonal sales, but every store eventually builds up an inventory of unsold things from previous seasons. So over the years, The Armoury has offloaded things in two ways — a bit of stock occasionally pops up at their sister site Drop93, and every few years, they hold pop-up sample sales in either New York City or Hong Kong.
The next sample sale is happening next week, the first time in four years. It will be held at 325 Canal Street in New York City. The sale will include things from The Armoury, naturally, and the company’s associated labels, Drop93 and Ring Jacket. Items will be discounted by as much as 80% off. The dates and times:
- Thursday, February 3th and Friday, February 4th from 10 am until 8 pm
- Saturday, February 5th from 12 noon until 7 pm
At previous samples sales, attendees have reported seeing a good stock of suits, sport coats, and ties — the sort of things The Armoury is known for — as well as a range of casualwear. You will also want to bring a debit or credit card, as they will not be taking cash at this event.
