Speaking of naval jackets, here’s a beautiful reproduction piece by Buzz Rickson. The folks there have captured both the clothing nerd and militaria nerd demographics with incredibly detailed, precise (and expensive) recreations of mid-20th-century military clothing. This particular is what’s called a deck jacket – a naval winter coat – from the 1943 design. It runs a little less than $400, but vintage pieces will cost you even more, and so, frankly, will most “inspired by” coats of much lower quality.
