We’ve Used Universal Subtitles To Add English Captions To The YouTube Version Of Put This On S2E1

March 18, 2012

We’ve used Universal Subtitles to add English captions to the YouTube version of Put This On S2E1. We really had no idea how to do captioning until we ran across Universal Subtitle, and boy is it a great, easy-to-use tool. It’s all on the web, and figuring out how to subtitle videos takes about 30 seconds. Totally amazing.

One of the coolest parts of Universal Subtitles is that anyone can use it on any video – you just drop the URL of a YouTube video in and start typing. It’s great for translations, too, in addition to closed captioning.

So, here’s my offer to you: be the first person to make a nice clean caption or translation of any episode of Season One, and drop our colleague Justin a line to let him know you’ve done it (email justin@maximumfun.org), and we’ll dispatch to you one of our brand-new S1 DVDs. You’ll be doing all the folks out there who want to watch our videos but can’t hear the dialogue or don’t speak English a great favor.

We’ll get them added to the source videos as quickly as you can finish them!
