We’re incredibly thankful as an independent menswear site to have sponsors. So, twice a month, we like to give them a special shoutout, as well as say a little about what’s going on with them.
Our friends at The Hanger Project are passionate about helping the well-dressed take care of their clothes. And, this week, they’re running their first giveaway — a fully decked out shoeshine kit that includes everything from their horsehair brushes to Saphir shoe polishes to a cedar valet box to hold the accessories. There are five ways to enter, with each way as simple as signing up for their online newsletter or subscribing to one of their social media feeds. You can learn more about at their site and YouTube channel.
Proper Cloth is known for their made-to-measure shirts, but as they’ve grown over the years and added custom suits, ready-made sweaters, and a range of accessories to their line, they’ve also started producing lookbooks. This week, they’ve released their latest winter lookbook, “Riverside Manor,” which was shot inside an abandoned mansion in New York. These lookbooks are a nice way to get ideas on how to wear suits and sport coats, as well as see how some of Proper Cloth’s more popular fabrics look when they’re made into shirts.
Paul Winston over at Chipp Neckwear continues to offer some of the lowest prices around for neckwear. In addition to his ancient madders for fall and silk Matkas for summer, he also has Italian knit ties you can wear year round. A little floppier and more casual, they designed to be worn with tweed sport coats, linen suits, and navy blazers. It may be counterintuitive, but black here will be your most versatile option. The color allows it to go with anything, while the weave makes it casual.
Dapper Classics is revving up for their second round of markdowns this week. From January 17th to the 19th, you can take an additional 40% off already marked down pries in their sale section. At the moment, they have some of their dress shirts and signature dress socks on sale, but they’ll be adding new inventory between now and the start of their promotion. The chambray shirt in there can be used to dress down seasonal sport coats in tweed and linen.
Huckberry’s inventory moves fast, with new offerings being featured every week. This week, they just got in some new dress shoes from Wolf and Shepherd, raincoats from Baro, and casual button-ups from Mizzen + Main. For coffee lovers, there’s also some equipment here from Fellow. The company’s popular Stagg EKG kettle just sold out, but they still have Fellow’s regular Stagg kettles, as well as their pour-over sets. As usual, the prices here are a bit lower than what you’ll find elsewhere.
Finally, our thanks to Twillory. They have both regular cotton and non-iron dress shirts, with the second being unique in that they’re made without the use of formaldehyde. This gives them a slightly more natural feel than the non-irons you’ll find at other dress shirt shops, while still retaining that wrinkle-free quality that makes these convenient for travel. At the moment, you can find their shirts on sale for as low as $54 a piece.
