If you’ve somehow made it this far without owning a Barbour — a menswear favorite and genuine classic — Kafka has some on sale right now at great prices. There’s a caveat. Kafka doesn’t have Barbour’s more popular Bedale and Beaufort in the company’s signature green, although the Bedale is available in camo (which is still great, but perhaps less versatile). However, they have the Ashby in green waxed cotton, which is basically the Bedale with a slightly trimmer body and longer sleeves. That should be good news since most customers size down on the Bedale for a trimmer fit, and then send their jackets to Barbour to get the sleeves lengthened (about a $50 alteration).
Kafka also has a few models in Barbour’s SL fit, which is a slimmed down silhouette originally made for the Japanese market. I prefer their more classic cuts (even with the regular-fit sized down, it’s fuller than the SL). But they could be good if you prefer something very modern looking.
